Good Refried Beans……. See Photos~ We bought these refried beans via Prime Pantry. We don’t buy refried beans often so I picked up this version and the regular one to see what we prefer…I didn’t pay too much attention to the ingredients but the regular version is cooked in lard. You can make these even better! Canned refried beans are what they are, and need help to go from a 3 star to a 4 star side. If you want to make that steel taste fade away, try lightly browning about 1/2 cup of diced onion in a T of oil. Add the beans and about 1/4 water, stir to mix and let it warm up. Add salt to taste, if you want. You’ll never just warm up canned refried beans again!

4.5 No grease is what I like the most but these have a quite nice ‘bean’ flavor and go well with jalapeno chips, among other things.I also like the texture as these are not completely mashed and have some bean pieces in the can.I have no complaints for this canned bean product other than to say it is not as good as homemade beans that are truly fried after being cooked and slightly mashed.
