Great gift for college students! I bought this for my teenage daughter for Christmas, who is moving from a dorm without a kitchen to an on campus apartment soon. She has always been interested in going vegetarian, & doesn’t know how to cook. I thought this was a great idea! It is cost conscious for a poor college student, healthy, & gives some basic cooking instructions. She hasn’t tried any of it yet, but thumbed through it & told me that less than half of the recipes are vegan & more than half are vegetarian…

Not Cheap or Simple I was excited to get this book for my graduating daughter who is a somewhat vegetarian. The title suggested it would be inexpensive and simple recipes, suitable for beginners. It wasn’t. A lot of the recipes include ingredients that I’ve never heard of (and I know how to cook well) and that are difficult to work with. Others were fairly exotic recipes that no college student, no matter what their cooking skill, would ever make. Also, the book has no pictures, so you can’t eve see what your…
