Great cookbook Very good conceptual cookbook. With a core recipe followed by seasonal variations, it lends well to making your own substitutes if you don’t like some of the suggested variations. It’s a nice touch that Alderson includes recipes for all parts of the dish–instead of calling for prepared tortillas or ravioli, she has simple recipes to make your own. I’ve only made a few dishes from the book so far, but the ones I’ve made are all keepers.—–Came back later to say the more…

This book was perfect. I went through and put notes on each … My mother never knows what to cook for my husband and myself, because we don’t eat meat and my husband has other dietary restrictions. This book was perfect. I went through and put notes on each of the things that looked good and how to make them fit my husband’s needs if it didn’t already.
